Payment of fees can be made either during registration on showmyevent.com (credit card or PayPal) or by mailing a check payable to Montana Suzuki Strings. All check deposits must be received by June 1st or registration will be cancelled.
Student Fees
Suzuki students are charged a nonrefunable registration fee of $75 (1 registration fee per family). The Suzuki curriculum includes a master class, a technique, and a repertoire class. Student tuition is assessed depending on the level of ability.
Book 1 through Book 3 students are charged $350. Book 4 through 6 are assessed a $420 fee. There will be an advanced class for Book 7 and above students with a tuition fee of $520. This advanced violin program includes the traditional courses with the addition of advanced orchestra and a class entitled "From Bach to Kreisler."
Pre-Twinkle students (those who have not yet mastered the Twinkle Variations) attend a technique class, master class, and creative movement class each day. These students are charged $275.
Enrichment courses are provided for students, siblings, and even parents. These courses cost $50/course (check to verify prerequisites for each class under the main heading of "Enrichment Classes"). Most students are able to take 1-2 enrichment courses if they choose (except advanced violin students whose registration includes 2 extra courses).
Adults (not including parents) who would like to observe the institute classes (for example, observe various teachers during their instruction of a master or technique class) are charged $20/day or $50/week. This option is often beneficial for violin teachers who would like to observe other teachers or hear recommendations which are made for their students.
Late Fees
Registration received after May 15th will be assessed a late fee of $50.
Housing
Families staying on campus can register for double rooms ($168/person for double occupancy for the week) or single rooms ($210 for the week). No changes can be made to reservations after June 1, 2012 and reservations will be cancelled if not paid by June 1st. Payment is required by this date and is not refundable by the University. Please note that if a single room is requested but more than one person stays in it, an extra fee will be assessed during institute by the University.
Check-in begins on Sunday, July 15th with check-out on Saturday, July 21st.
Meals
Meal passes for adults cost $125/person/week. Children 4 -12 years old are charged $105/person/week. There is no charge for children ages 3 and under. Meals begin with supper on Sunday, July 15th at 5:00 p.m. Purchased meal passes provide 15 meals (dinner 7/15 through breakfast 7/21). Lunch and dinner on 7/18 are not included (afternoon off).
Meals may also be purchased individually at the walk-in price instead of purchasing a pass for the week or a lunch only pass may be purchased for $40 for the week. The lunch only pass is a good option for people not staying on campus.
Parking Permit
Since parking is limited on or near the University Campus, a parking permit can be purchased for $10.00. This is highly recommended for anyone planning on parking on campus.
Institute T-Shirt
An Institute t-shirt is included in the tuition fee; extra t-shirts may also be purchased for a separate fee.
Cancellation Policy
A refund of all fees paid, excluding the $75.00 registration fee, will be given only if notice of cancellation is received in writing by June 1, 2012. Cancellation notices may be sent via email to Lamar Blum at aaee11e@yahoo.com or to P.O. Box 4143, Missoula, MT 59806. Due to commitments to faculty and travel arrangements, persons who withdraw after June 1st forfeit all fees. There is a $35 charge for returned checks.
